About the podcast

The OMT Podcast, or the podcast of the Organizations and Management Theory (OMT) division of the Academy of Management, is a medium-length (~ 30-40min/episode), interview-based podcast about the life and work of the various members of the OMT division. It is a digital vehicle for members of the division, as well as for everyone else, to learn about each other, about what kind of work is being done in management and organizational theory,  and about the diversity of stories and interests that permeate the OMT division. Each interview is focused squarely on the guest – on how they got to where they are today, the cutting-edge questions they are asking, and what motivates them and their work.

The podcast is hosted by Ms. Tanja Ohlson (University of Oxford), who is a Doctoral Candidate in Management at the University of Oxford, Said Business School and a recipient of the New College Millman Scholarship and Centre for Reputation Management Scholarship. For her research, she is collaborating with an asset management firm and focuses on communication of, and with, corporate leaders on change for sustainability, stakeholder and shareholder management while creating innovative solutions.

The OMT Podcast is a great way for new and established researchers to learn about their colleagues the world over, and to, potentially, get inspired to try new things and work with new people! Academia can feel like a lonely place but it doesn’t have to be – there are hundreds of colleagues keen on sharing ideas and learning from each other. With the OMT Podcast, you can find out exactly who they are, and then go talk to them about all kinds of great ideas at the Annual Meeting! OMT, after all, is the place to be.
